Dr. Tyler Alexander, Principal
Dr. Tyler Alexander began his career in education as a teacher and coach at Blue Valley Southwest High School. During his time there, he taught multiple social studies and AP courses and served as department chair.
He started his administrative career at Blue Valley Northwest High School, where he held several administrative roles over six years before returning to Blue Valley Southwest as assistant principal. He was later named principal, a role he currently holds.
Alexander earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from MidAmerica Nazarene University, a master’s degree in PreK–12 educational administration from Emporia State University, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Kansas.
He is supported by his wife, Kelley, a library media specialist at Morse Elementary, and their two children. Their son, Graham, is a student at Morse Elementary, and their daughter, Olivia, is also enrolled there.

Mr. Rasmussen began his career in education in 1994 as a teacher and coach in Harrisonville, Missouri. At Harrisonville High School, he taught business education courses and served as head coach for both the boys and girls soccer teams. In 1998, he joined Shawnee Mission South High School, where he taught multiple business education courses, was head coach of the girls’ soccer team, and varsity assistant coach for the boys’ soccer program.

Dr. Anne Kastelic began her teaching career in mathematics at Shawnee Mission West, where she taught a variety of math courses and coached the dance team. She joined Blue Valley in 2016 as a math teacher at Blue Valley West.

Mrs. Huseman began her career in education as a teacher and coach at Blue Valley West. Throughout her time in Blue Valley, she has taught and coached within both the Blue Valley High and Blue Valley West communities. She has experience teaching in Career Technical Education as well as Physical Education. At Blue Valley West, Huseman taught a variety of classes, served as department chair, and was head coach for the cross country and track teams.
